Lata Mangeshkar rubbishes 'heart attack' rumours; 'tabiyat bilkul theek hai,' she tweets

The singer clarified that she is fine and the rumours spreading are false
Mumbai: Eminent Bollywood singer Lata Mangeshkar on Tuesday took to Twitter to quell rumours that she had suffered a heart attack.
“Namaskar. Meri tabiyat ke baare mein afwaayein phail rahi hai. Par aap sab ka pyar aur duaaien hain ke meri tabiyat bilkul thik hai (There are rumours regarding my health. But thanks to your wishes, I am fine,” she tweeted.
Rumours of her ill-health and worse had spread on the social media for hours in the evening, forcing the singer to put out the clarification.
Others too joined in, stating that she was just fine.
“As a family friend all I can say is that @mangeshkarlata didi is hale, hearty, in great spirits n laughing off romours,” tweeted actor and BJP leader Smriti Irani. "@mangeshkarlata didi n family hv spent d better half of dis evening assuring fans n supporters dat she is well."
Film-maker Madhur Bhandarkar tweeted, "Just spoke to @mangeshkarlata. Lata Didi is hale and hearty. So please stop spreading baseless rumors."
