Jaipur: The Rajasthan police said three operatives were arrested  from Jaipur and two from Jodhpur on Sunday, while one more person had been caught on Saturday. It said one of the operatives was absconding.

The Delhi police, at a press conference on Sunday, claimed only four persons had been arrested. Sources said the Delhi police had also detained two more persons from Jamia Nagar. “The two are from Bihar and had been studying in Rajasthan. We  are questioning the two.”

The police, however, refused  to divuldge any details about these two.

Rajasthan ADGP Alok Tripathi said six IM terrorists had been arrested, and identified them as Zia-ur-Rehman alias Waqas, a Pakistani national and chief bombmaker of IM; Mohammad Maharuf; Mehraj; Mohammad Waqar Azhar alias Haneef; Adil and Mohammed Shakib Ansari. One other terrorist, Barkat, however, managed to escape after being alerted by one of the arrested terrorists, he said.

The arrest of the six IM operatives has foiled the plans of attacks on political leaders, mainly BJP PM candidate Narendra Modi, and tourists in Rajasthan, the Rajasthan police said.
