NIA has named two top operatives of the Indian Mujahideen as the accused

HYDERABAD: The National Investigating Agency has filed a chargesheet in the Dilsukhnagar serial bomb blasts case at the Nampally Criminal Court, Hyderabad. It named two top operatives of the Indian Mujahideen — Mohammed Ahmed Siddibapa, alias Yasin Bhatkal, and Asadullah Akhtar, alias Haddi, alias Tabrez as the accused.

The NIA charged the duo for murder, attempt to murder and under various other Sections of the IPC and the Explosive Substances Act and the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act. The NIA told the court that the accused had plotted to 'wage a war against the nation.'

The investigating agency said the duo was arrested near the Indo-Nepal border in 2013.

“During the investigation, the hideout of Asadullah in Mangalore was searched and materials like ammonium nitrate, diodes, connected wires, timers, batteries, which could be used for preparing IEDs, were recovered. The IM conspired to wage war against the nation,” the agency said in the chargesheet.
