EAMCET now on May 22nd, no change for BITSAT Examinations

EAMCET-2014 has been postponed to May 22 as vote counting is being held on May 16

Hyderabad: EAMCET-2014 has been postponed to May 22 as vote counting is being held on May 16. The decision was taken by the EAMCET committee on Thursday.

However, the BITSAT examination starting on May 14 will not be affected. EAMCET convenor N.V. Ramana Rao said that since election results would be announced on May 16, it can cause major inconvenience to students and can also affect the availability of exam centres.

The election committee and state government officials met on Thursday and decided to postpone the examinations from May 17 to May 22. The decision was taken after considering the availability of invigilators, police officials, revenue department and centres.

Other details will be available on the EAMCET website. According to officials, the engineering exam will be conducted from 10 am to 1 pm. The agriculture and medicine exam will be held from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm on the same date.

To qualify in the examination, a candidate must secure 25 per cent marks in EAMCET. There is no separate cut off in the qualifying marks for candidates belonging to reserved categories. The final ranks of EAMCET 2014 will be prepared on the basis of the combined scores obtained by giving 75 per cent weightage to the marks secured in EAMCET and 25 percent to that secured in the relevant group subjects.
