Bangalore: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and KPCC president, Dr G. Parameshwar advised party legislators not to form groups to fight for redressal of their grievances.
Addressing the Congress legislature meeting held here on Wednesday, the two leaders came down heavily on ministers who refuse to entertain the requests for projects suggested by legislators.
However, the Chief Minister tried to strike a balance saying: "We cannot implement everything you (legislators) recommend. At the same time, I would like to tell the ministers that they should give top priority to works recommended by legislators."
The meeting saw water resources minister, M.B. Patil trying to explain the issues raised in the last CLP meeting.
Then, many legislators had demanded that he should be removed from the ministry failing which they would resign from the legislature.
When Patil tried to explain his position, Siddaramaiah intervened and told him to separately convene a meeting with legislators who have grievances and sort them out.
The members also urged the Chief Minister to provide rice to APL card holders too. A few members asked party chief whip Ashok Pattan why he had issued gag orders.
"Did anyone indulge in anti-party activity? No. Then, why this gag order," they reportedly asked Pattan.
The legislators also urged the Chief Minister to immediately reconstitute Ashraya and Aaradhana committees to accommodate supporters of MLAs which would help the party fight the LS polls effectively, sources explained.
