Kochi: Industrialist Kochouseph Chittilappally has moved Kerala high court against the agitations conducted by the LDF and others disturbing free movement of the public. He sought a directive to constitute a body to ensure that no public road is totally blocked during the protest or agitations convened by either political parties or religious groups.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Manjula Chellur and Justice A.M. Shaffique considered the plea and asked Chittilappally to produce the details showing the official documents regarding public agitations which obstructed public life in the last two years.
The petitioner pointed out the LDF agitations against the ruling front before the secretariat. The LDF also conducted a protest in front of Cliff House for about one month.
There was a virtual blockade for pedestrians and the common people. All the roads around the chief minister’s official residence were blocked by the Left parties. One housewife Sandhya protested against the agitation.
