Act against Rahul Gandhi, DYFI to Rishi Raj Singh

DYFI seeks action against Rahul for alleged violation of MV Act in Alappuzha.

Thiruvananthapuram: DYFI has sought action against Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi for alleged violation of MV Act during his recent road show in Alappuzha district.

DYFI state president M. Swaraj handed over the complaint to Transport Commissioner Rishiraj Singh demanding action under the provision of MV Act against the Congress prime ministerial candidate. The DYFI alleged that by climbing atop a police vehicle, the Congress leader had indulged in naked violation of the law.

The DYFI also demanded action against Youth Congress president Dean Kuriakose who was with Rahul Gandhi during the road show.

CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan, Thomas Isaac MLA had also demanded action against Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday. But the Congress rejected the demand saying that CPM was raising baseless allegations and Rahul had climbed atop police vehicles for security reasons.

Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala said the CPM was baffled by the huge response to Rahul’s road show.
