Uday Kiran had severe financial crisis

Telugu actor Uday Kiran went into chronic depression after film with loans was shelved.

Hyderabad: After questioning actor Uday Kiran’s wife, family members and friends, the West Zone police found that he was going through a serious financial crisis. Though the actor’s former manager had started a movie with him, it had to be shelved. This was the latest blow to the actor’s career.

“We were told that 10 days ago, Uday’s former manager Munna had come to meet him. Munna, who had taken lakhs as loan to make the movie, told Uday that due to financial losses she was forced to drop the film. After this, Uday went into chronic depression,” said a senior police official.

“Several other film offers too were cancelled and the producers had taken back the advance they had given to the actor. He was living on his wife’s salary for the past few months,” said the official.

The cops found the actor recent entered a financial deal with a filmmaker. However, the filmmaker had been insisting that Uday return his money.

They also found that there had been a verbal spat between Uday and his wife Vishitha on Sunday regarding breakfast. Cops suspect that the actor was afraid of separation from his wife.

“He had told her that she did not care for him anymore,” an official said. After analysing call details, the police found that four calls had been made from Uday’s phone and two messages sent. The four calls were to Vishitha and her friend Sharath.

“They were newly married and were happy. We are yet to find out if there was really any major dispute between him and his wife,” said the investigation in charge from Banjara Hills police station.
