Samaikya activists welcome portfolio change as it benefits the agitation.

Anantapur: The sudden change in the portfolio of Legislative Affairs, brought cheer among the activists of Samaikyandhra, as the key portfolio has been given to Seemandhra Representatives Forum convener, Sake Sailajanath, who was among the representatives leading the agitation in the State.

Sailajanath, MLA, from Singanamala Assembly segment, in Anantapur district, is serving as primary education minister and leading Seemandhra Representatives’ Forum.

He had recently voiced opposing the state’s bifurcation during President Pranab Mukherjee’s meeting, held on the occasion of centenary celebrations of former president, Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy, at Anantapur.

Though, the President’s office had refused representatives to meet him, at the Anantapur programme, Sailajanath had made himself avail at the venue during the welcome address and also gave representation to the President seeking united state.

The Seemandhra Forum Convener had stressed the need to roll back the decision on the division of the state.

With the Chief Minister, N. Kiran Kumar Reddy’s sudden decision to change the Legislative Affairs portfolio, from D. Sreedhar Babu of Telangana region, Samaikyandhra activists are welcoming the change, which could benefit the agitation.

While Telangana leaders from all parties are opposing the Chief Minister’s decision of changing Legislative Affairs portfolio to Seemandhra region, similarly it gained positive response from Seemandhra region.

The Madakasira MLA, K. Sudhakar, welcomed the decision of allotting the portfolio to Sailajanath.

“The Chief Minister had every right in shuffling portfolios or changing ministers,” he observed.

The Telugu Desam MLA, Payyavula Kesav, from Uravakonda Assembly segment, had supported the Chief Minister for changing the portfolio of Sreedhar Babu.

“I am confident that 2014 general elections will be held in the united state,” Payyavula Kesav said.
