Anantapur: President Pranab Mukherjee visited Prasanthi Nilayam and had a darshan of Sri Satya Sai Baba’s Maha Samadhi at Sai Kulwanth Hall before leaving for Hyderabad on Monday.
Satya Sai central committee secretary Prasad Rao and other members welcomed the president at the Prasanthi Nilayam airport on the occasion.
Accompanied by governor E.S.L Narasimhan, chief minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, he visited Prasanthi Nilayam and paid homage at the Maha Samadhi at around 2.50 pm.
After paying tribute, the President offered prayers at the Maha Samadhi for a few minutes and visited green room of Sai Baba.
The trustees briefed the president about the activities of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust on the occasion.
When he arrived at the Puttaparthi Airport in the morning at 11.30 am , the president was received by the trustees of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust along with the district authorities.The President left for Hyderabad at about 3.15 pm.
