Cheated of $2 lakh by a firm: T Rajhendherr

Actor-director Rajhendherr approached the city police commissioner’s office on Monday.

Chennai: Actor-director T. Rajhendherr approached the city police commissioner’s office on Monday, demanding action against two agents, who, he alleged, had cheated him of $2 lakh, promising to rope in international musicians like Akon and Rihanna for a music album by his son T.R. Silambarasan.

Rajhendherr said his company, Kural TV Creations Pvt Ltd, had entered into an agreement with Talvindar Batth alias Terry Batth, a Canada-based agent, in December 2011. Local agent Ramji Soma had introduced the director to Terry Batth, he alleged in his complaint.

Love Anthem: Rajhendherr demands action against agents

Chennai: Rajhendherr said his company, Kural TV Creations Pvt Ltd, had entered into an agreement with Talvindar Batth alias Terry Batth, a Canada-based agent, in December 2011.

The agreement was to negotiate contracts for professional services of several international musicians for the music album, 'Love Anthem', composed by his son and actor Silambarasan.

In his complaint, Rajhendherr alleged that he had paid $2 lakh to them to contact and negotiate artists and technicians like Akon, David Guetta and Rihanna for their professional services. However, they failed to honour the agreement except for spending US $ 40,000 for recording and on the technicians.

“Eventually, the album was completed and we bore additional costs as we engaged another agency to approach the artistes,” Rajhendherr told mediapersons after submitting the petition at the city police office.

“I have submitted evidence of payment and I request the police department to retrieve the money from the agents,” he added. In May 2013, international hip-hop musician Akon was in India to record for the album.
