No permit for JAC to meet Pranab Mukherjee

Security authorities refused to give permission for Samaikyandhra leaders due to security issues.

Anantapur: The security authorities of President Pranab Mukherjee have refused to permit Samaikyandhra activists to submit representation during his visit to Anantapur and Puttaparthi on Monday.

Revenue minister N. Raghuveera Reddy said that several Samaikyandhra leaders had sought permission to submit representation to the President regarding problems arising due to state bifurcation.

But the office and security authorities of the President refused the request stating security issues. It may be noted that primary education minister and Seemandhra representatives forum convener Sailajanath, who was also member in the centenary birth anniversary celebrations of former president Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy, made serious efforts to convince the security authorities seeking permission to submit representation at Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy stadium during visit on Monday.

Raghuveera Reddy, however, said that Samaikyandhra representatives could meet the President in Hyderabad and submit the representation. Refusal of permission to Samaikyandhra activists is expected to spark protests in various parts of district on Monday.

Sri Krishnadevaraya University JAC has given a call for protests in all parts of the district because of the President's support to division of state in his speech a day before arriving in Hyderabad.
SKU JAC leader K. Sadashiva Reddy told this reporter, protests across the district is bound to greet the President during his visit.

Sources said, police authorities planned to detain or arrest leaders of Samaikyandhra agitation until the completion of the President’s programme at Anantapur and Puttaparthi.

Anantapur: Security blanket was put in and around Anantapur and Puttaparthi on the occasion of President Pranab Mukherjee’s visit to the district on Monday.

DIG B. Balakrishna and SP S. Senthil Kumar told media that 3 SPs would review the bandobast arrangements and five additional SPs, 20 DSPs, 50 circle inspectors, 112 sub-inspectors and more than 1,000 police constables posted at Anantapur. In addition, 20 special party police teams are also being used for security in Anantapur.

Similarly, one SP and additional SP, 6 DSPs, 30 circle inspectors, 58 sub-inspectors and 430 constables are being posted at Puttaparthi. President Pranab Mukherjee would arrive Puttaparthi by special aircraft and later proceed to Anantapur in helicopter. After participating in the concluding centenary celebrations, the President is scheduled to visit Mahasamadhi of Sri Satya Saibaba at Saikulwanth Hall in Prasanthinilayam.

SP S. Senthil Kumar said that traffic would be curbed for a few hours during President’s visit from airport towards Prasanthinilayam. Similarly, traffic is diverted in the surroundings of Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy stadium including Over-bridge, Clock Tower and PTC Road.
