Shall we form govt or not? Kejri to aam aadmi

AAP to write 25 lakh letters; Call, SMS, post on Facebook, says Kejriwal to voters

New Delhi: In an unprecedented move in Indian politics, Aam Aadmi Party founder-chief Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday sought people’s views on whether or not to form a government in Delhi.

His supporters started giving out 25 lakh copies of a letter asking people to say if the AAP should form the government. The home ministry, meanwhile, was busy preparing a Cabinet note on imposing President’s Rule.

Sources close to Kejriwal said Tuesday there was a strong possibility of the AAP forming the government with Congress support.

After a meeting of the party’s political affairs committee, Kejriwal said the AAP would hold 270 public meetings to get feedback from Delhiites till Sunday.

He said people could also call, send SMSes or give their opinion on the party’s website and Facebook page till Sunday. The party will decide on its next step on Monday.

The home ministry was busy preparing a note for the Cabinet on imposition of President’s Rule. This is expected to be cleared by the home minister by Wednesday, and then placed before the Cabinet.
