Nitish Kumar plotted with IM to kill Narendra Modi

An angry JD(U) rubbished the charges, calling it the BJP’s “verbal terrorism”.

Patna: Acrimony between Bihar's ruling JD(U) and the Opposition BJP rose to a new high on Saturday when senior BJP leader Giriraj Singh accused chief minister Nitish Kumar of having planned to eliminate Narendra Modi with the help of the Indian Mujahideen.

While the BJP had so far only accused Kumar's government of “deliber ate lapses“ in security arrange ments in Pat n a during Modi's rally on October 27, when serial blasts killed seven people, this is the first time a senior BJP leader has accused Kumar of plotting to kill Modi and of links with the terror outfit.

An angry JD(U) rubbished the charges, calling it the BJP’s “verbal terrorism” and threatened action.

BJP sources said its leaders felt “very hurt and betrayed” by the state government’s intention to institute an inquiry against the role of former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi, and that Singh’s statements possibly stemmed from those feel

ings. The government said on Friday it would probe the alleged revenue loss of about Rs 50 crore to the state exchequer due to arbitrary lowering of VAT between 2007 and June 2013 under Mr Sushil Kumar Modi’s watch.
“BJP leaders in Bihar are unleashing verbal terrorism. Such intemperate statements are signs of insanity. We are contemplating action,” JD(U) spokesman Neeraj Kumar said.
