Tinsel town was abuzz with the hot report that Trisha, will be making a sizzling debut in Kannada with a remake of Telugu film 'Dookudu'. The 2011 Mahesh Babu starrer was an action comedy, directed by Sreenu Vytla and had Samantha in the lead. The movie also won several awards and reaped gold at the box-office. It also catapulted Sam’s career to big heights in T’town.
The buzz is that the makers, who finalised Kannada’s ‘Power Star’ Puneeth Rajkumar to reprise Mahesh Babu, were looking out for a big star to essay his love interest. Trisha was their first choice since the svelte beauty is extremely popular with audiences in Karnataka. The Mankatha girl who was contemplating whether to accept a Kannada movie despite getting several offers in the past is said to have signed on the dotted line for an whopping amount. Madesh who has given few blockbusters has been roped in to wield the megaphone and Thaman, who did the original musical score, will be debuting in Sandalwood.
A beaming Trisha admitted that she is making her debut in Kannada, to DC. “Yes, I am happy that I am going to be doing my first Kannada flick with Puneeth. It will be a quick schedule and they are giving me my price as well.”
