Political interference causes rift in APNGOs

Differences have surfaced among APNGOs, allegedly due to the interference of political parties in the organisation.

Hyderabad: Differences have surfaced among APNGOs, allegedly due to the interference of political parties in the organisation. The APNGOs top leaders are allegedly blaming each other as they were influenced by the Congress and YSR Congess.

There is speculation that APNGOs president P. Ashok Babu is backing Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy on launching a new political party. At the same time, former APNGOs president P. Subbaray-an, who is likely to join YSR Congress soon, made stray allegations against Ashok Babu. However, Ashok Babu denied all of them.

Speaking to the media on Saturday, Subbarayan alleged that Ashok Babu is driving the Seemandhra agitation to achieve his political goals and not for the sake of keeping the state united. He said it is not correct for Ashok Babu to dictate terms to the people’s representatives.

He asked Ashok Babu why he registered a political party, while being a government servant. “Will he continue as the government servant or join politics, let him answer my question,”?said Subbarayan.

He alleged that the Samaikyandhra agitation has lost its glory because of Ashok Babu’s way of functioning and statements. He asked Ashok Babu to submit accounts for the amount collected from the Save Andhra Pradesh public meetings.

Meanwhile, Ashok Babu condemned the allegations made by Subbarayan. Reacting to Subbarayan’s remarks against him, Ashok Babu said the former (Subbarayan) is neither a member in any of their associations nor has he any business with their association. He said, “I need not reply to him, I condemn all his allegations”.
