Congress compares Modi speeches to stand-up comedy shows, says Gujarat CM is poorly educated

Modi is poorly educated and BJP has made him its PM candidate, says Congress.

New Delhi: Congress on Saturday ridiculed Narendra Modi as a 'poorly-educated' man who was 'talking foolish' in his attempt to rival a highly educated Prime Minster Manmohan Singh.

AICC general secretary Shakeel Ahmed also claimed that Modi taking over the command of BJP's campaign in Delhi shows that the local leadership of that party has realised that they cannot defeat Sheila Dikshit on their own.

Modi's speeches are becoming like a stand up comedy circus show. It is becoming monotonous. However, even then the BJP leaders of Delhi have fielded him in Delhi. Even on the radio advertisements, leaders like Sushma Swaraj and Rajnath Singh are coming.

"The local leaders of Delhi have surrendered. They have now realised that they cannot defeat Dikshit on their own," Ahmed said.

Congress barbs came minutes after Modi, on a whirlwind campaign in Delhi, attacked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Finance Minister P Chidambaram, saying they have ruined the country with their 'bookish knowledge'.

Modi is poorly educated and the BJP has made him its prime ministerial candidate.

When a poorly educated tries to match up with some highly-educated people, he ends up talking many foolish things.

He is doing the same when he says that Taxila is in Bihar, Alexander's march was halted in Bihar.

"Recently he said that Jan Sangh's Shyama Prasad Mookerjee had conversed with Swami Vivekanand, where the fact is that Mookerjee was just 11 months old when Swami Vivekanand had died. "

"So it is anybody's guess that what kind of a dialogue an 11-month-old can have with Vivekanand. The Prime Minister had rightly said Modi will change the history and geography," Ahmed said.

He also dismissed BJP's talk of higher tariff of power in Delhi saying Modi should first ensure that the rates of electricity in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, where power tariff is higher than Delhi, comes down.
