Nellore: NGOs will put all their efforts to prevent bifurcation of state and they are ready to take law into their hands if necessary to bring pressure on the Centre to drop the proposal to divide the state.
The NGOs will adopt whatever method necessary to exert pressure on the Centre. AP NGOs Association state president Paruchuri Ashok Babu disclosed this while speaking to media persons here on Wednesday.
He was here to attend the marriage of the daughter of C. Ravindra Babu, president of NGOs Association, Nellore district unit. He said that employees were worst-hit because of the agitation in the first phase but the second part of their agitation will be totally different from the first one.
“Our employees will have nothing to lose this time. The rasta rokos and rail rokos are going to be very intense. It is very unfortunate that a state is being split for political gains,” Ashok Babu said.
He rebuked the Seemandhra MPs and Union ministers for not paying attention to study the subjects related to division and oppose the move. He took a dig on them for their assumption about bifurcation and asking for packages.
He made it clear that they are not going to depend on Seemandhra ministers and MPs on the issue anymore and they would meet the leaders of national parties seeking their help to stall the division move.
He struck down the allegation that NGOs agitation was failed because they failed to sail with political parties.
Ashok Babu said there was no unity among the political parties in Seemandhra unlike in Telangana where all political parties joined hands to realise a separate state.
The NGOs association president said, “The political leaders’ statements on Rayala Telangana and Union territory status for Hyderabad are a glaring example to showcase the lack of coordination among Seemandhra leaders.
He added that they would ensure the defeat of Seemandhra MPs and Union ministers in the ensuing elections.
He said that they will appeal to all the legislators to vote against Telangana Bill whenever it is introduced in the Assembly.
Referring to GoM dealing with 11 issues pertaining to the bifurcation, he observed that it is a very difficult task to do justice to the issues such as Article 371-D and water sharing and it will amount to violation of Constitution if they go ahead with the division.
The NGOs leader also indicated to the plans to move the Apex Court on the issue. Speaking on the occasion, Electricity Employees JAC chairman Saibaba said that they are ready to resort to a flash strike whenever NGOs will give strike call. He assured that their strike will not trouble the public and they knew how to apply pressure on the Centre.
