The forthcoming Pongal festival was supposed to be a triple delight for film-goers/fans in Tamil Nadu.
The reason was that three movies including Superstar Rajinikanth's Kochadaiiyaan was supposed to release ahead of the festival. In fact, the movie was to hit theatres on January 10, 2014 for Pongal.
However, it seems that might not happen as Kochadaiyaan, directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth Ashwin has been apparently pulled out of the race and would be released at a later date.
It was set to take on Ajith-starrer Veeram and Vijay's Jilla for the harvest festival.
It may be noted that Veeram and Jilla have confirmed their release for Pongal.
And, Eros International and Media One Global Entertainment, the producers of Kochadaiyaan are supposedly looking for an alternate date to get a solo release.
The film has music by AR Rahman and stars Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, Jackie Shroff, R Sarath Kumar, Aadi Pinisetty, Shobana, Rukmini Vijaykumar and Nassar in key roles.
It is likely that an official confirmation on the release may be made during the film's audio launch, expected to take place on December 12, Superstar's birthday.
