Malaysian Chiu Sen enthrals with Carnatic music

Malaysian born Chong Chiu Sen’s Chinese tongue was more yielding to thesubtleties of South Indian vernacular.

Anantapur: Malaysian born Chong Chiu Sen’s Chinese tongue was more yielding to thesubtleties of South Indian vernacular, especially Telugu and Tamil, when he ventured to offer a Carnatic presentation at Sri Satya Saibaba Lotus Feet on Thusday evening on the 4th day of the ongoing 88th birthday celebrations in Prasanthi Nilayam.

Chong Chiu Sen’s presentation was followed by an inspiring, shoot-from-the heart speech by the director of SSSSIHMS, Prasanthigram Dr. Chaudhuri Voleti and a video presentation on the occasion of 22nd anniversay of the Temple of Healing.

The evening programme commenced with Chiu Sen’s Carnatic programme. Disciple of legendary Carnatic singer Padma Vibhushan D.K. Pattammal, Chong Chiu Sen’s passion for Carnatic music is still on with presentation at Sai Kulwanth Hall.

Bringing in compositions in Telugu and Tamil by famed names, like St Thyagaraja, Purandaradasa and Manikkavazagar, the talented artist sang the popular number ‘Bho Shambho Siva Shambo Swayam Bho,’ before signing out with a Hindi Bhajan composed by him, “Sai Bhajan Binaa Mera Jeevan Sukha.” At the end Chiu Sen alias Sai Madan Mohan Kumar was accorded a round of applause.

Thursday marks the 22nd anniversary of Sri Sathya Sai Institute Of Higher Medical Sciences, Prasanthigram the first of the twin Super Speciality Hospitals instituted by Baba himself, wayback in 1991.Commemorating the occasion, this evening, team SSSIHMS presented a 23 minute video presentation entitled ‘Eternal Day’ talking about the legacy of the Temple Of Healing.

The presentation was a class apart, with first person narrative of the being called SSSIHMS that talks about itself, its inception, evolution and ongoing task that never ends.

Earlier, before the Video presentation Director, SSSIHMS, Prasanthigram Dr.Choudhari Voleti spoke at ease about the beauty called Super Speciality Hospital, hailing it as a Citadel, in a remote village in Andhra Pradesh that takes care of health care of thousands and laksha completely free of cost.

Blending his talk with his own story of introduction to the Divinity, Dr Voleti shared some interesting facets of Divinity, citing his own experiences.Talking about the transformation of a ‘head-heavy cardiac surgeon’ into a devoted servant of Sri Sathya Sai, Dr Voleti concluded.
