Kochi: Model Thinkal Bhal of Malayali House fame, saw the public attacking her mercilessly on Facebook on Saturday night as a fake profile of the model posted an anti-Sachin status on the social networking site.
The person who impersonated the upcoming actor put up a post on Facebook which said the Government’s decision to award Bharat Ratna to Sachin Tendulkar was a vote bank gimmick.
“Am not saying Sachin don’t deserve Bharat Ratna, but if sportspersons have to be given such an honor like Bharat Ratna, Major Dhyan Chand, Milkha Singh, Viswanathan Anand etc…would have to come first!! What my point is that all of them don’t have a huge fan base like Sachin to be satisfied by the Govt to gain ur praise or mostly votes, with this single move!”(sic), the imposter updated.
The faker also commented that Tendulkar was playing for a private firm – BCCI – and not the country. The status literally kicked up a storm as hundreds started verbally abusing the model both on her fake and original accounts.
However, the model was quick to tell Facebookians that the status was posted by an impersonator and it was not her genuine account.
She said: “Dis is not my page....m not at all responsible for any getting posted on it...its truly run by smbdy else...I myself can’t comment on dat page as m blocked.....sincerely. .I even have no clue wats going wid Sachin Tendulkar. ..all I know is I respect him truly from my heart....I have no clue what shud I do...m really sorry!! All I hav to say is dats not me.” (sic).
Later she clarified that the fake profile was run by one of her friends and she had asked him to delete the page immediately. The imposter also deleted the anti-Sachin post and updated it saying that it was a mistake and it was not posted by Bhal. He also deleted the page shortly after.
