Visakhapatnam: Responding to the pleas of K.S.N.S. Raju and minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy announced major sops to the people of Chodavaram constituency during the Rachchabanda, saying education and health were important for the development.
A sum of Rs 114 crore would be sanctioned to construct flood banks along Sarada, Varaha and Tandava rivers in the district for flood protection mechanism, around Rs 35 crore for the under constriction super-specialty hospital Visakha Institute of Medical Sciences in Vizag and Rs 50 lakh for construction of college buildings in Chodavaram.
The CM also assured that he would take steps for completion of all the major irrigation projects in the district.
Upgrading the 30-bed government hospital in Chodavaram into 50-bedded hospital were among the sops Kiran Kumar Reddy announced.
