Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will lay the foundation stone for a new Amazon data centre in Bharat Future City on Wednesday. As artificial intelligence increasingly gains prominence, Telangana is emerging as the most preferred destination for multinational firms to set up data centres.

In January 2025, at the World Economic Forum summit in Davos, Revanth Reddy held key discussions with Amazon’s management team and secured an in‑principle commitment for a ₹60,000‑crore investment in Telangana — among the largest technology investments in the state’s history.

Subsequently, in December 2025, a framework agreement for the ₹60,000‑crore investment was signed with Amazon during the Telangana Rising Global Summit. Amazon was allotted 202 acres in Bharat Future City and 98 acres in Chandanvelly. With the Bharat Future City facility, Hyderabad is set to host one of the largest hyper‑scale data centres in India.

The state has extended incentives and concessions worth ₹125 crore to the company. The project is expected to play a key role in the economic development of the peri‑urban region (PURE). In the first phase, construction will be completed in 24 months, with remaining works taken up over the next decade. The overall investment for Amazon data centres in Telangana is expected to reach ₹60,000 crore.

Amazon Web Services is positioning Hyderabad as the country’s largest digital and cloud computing hub. The project will mark another milestone in Telangana’s IT sector, with state‑of‑the‑art hyper‑scale facilities strengthening digital infrastructure for cloud computing, artificial intelligence, digital banking, e‑commerce, healthcare, government services, startups and industries.

Telangana’s unique advantages — including land, water, power, roads, policy support and swift administration — are drawing global corporations to Hyderabad.
