Nalgonda: Former Munugode MLA and BRS leader Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy on Saturday alleged that Congress MLA Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy was once again enacting the drama of resignation to blackmail his party high command.

Speaking to the media, Prabhakar Reddy said Raj Gopal Reddy had no genuine concern for the people of the Munugode Assembly constituency and was misusing the public mandate for selfish interests. He alleged that Raj Gopal Reddy was blackmailing the Congress high command with threats of resignation to secure project contracts from the state government.

He recalled that in 2022, Raj Gopal Reddy resigned from his MLA post and joined the BJP to obtain a contract worth ₹18,000 crore from the Centre. He questioned whether the development of Munugode was impossible without holding a ministerial post, adding that he himself had developed the constituency during his tenure as MLA.

Countering the allegations, Congress leader Naraboina Ravi stated that Raj Gopal Reddy had never said he would resign from his MLA post. He clarified that Raj Gopal Reddy had only stressed that the development of Munugode was more important than a ministerial post. He added that a ministerial position for Raj Gopal Reddy would help him bring more funds and projects for the constituency’s development.
