Hyderabad:Raidurgam police on Sunday arrested Syed Sajid, owner of the under-construction building that collapsed in Anjaiahnagar on Saturday, killing two workers and injuring two others. Contractor Khaja Moinuddin, also booked for the collapse, is on the run, police said.

Police had registered a case against owner Sajid and contractor Moinuddin under Section 105 of the BNS that deals with culpable homicide not amounting to murder. read with Section 3(5) which is about common intent. Following the owner's arrest, police are on the lookout for the accused contractor. The role of the contractor and other persons associated with the construction work is also being examined as part of the probe.

The victims were identified as Umesh Khare and Mopath, both natives of Madhya Pradesh. Their bodies were shifted to Osmania General Hospital for postmortem, while their families were informed. The two injured workers were shifted to a hospital and were reported to be stable and out of danger.
