Visakhapatnam: The Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) observed the International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies–2026 on Monday by organising awareness and environmental initiatives.
As part of the Swachh Vayu Diwas programme organised by the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board, an awareness rally was held on Beach Road. APPCB chairman P. Krishnaiah, GVMC commissioner Ketan Garg, VPA chairman J.S. Bindra and deputy chairperson Roshni Aparanji Korati participated.
The VPA planted 3,000 saplings within the port premises to promote environmental sustainability and inaugurated three Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Stations at Malkapuram, Akkayyapalem (port stadium) and Pandurangapuram (harbour park).
