KAKINADA: Police job aspirants took out a massive rally in Kakinada city and staged a dharna in front of the collector’s office on Monday, demanding the immediate release of a “Mega Police Recruitment Notification” and filling of vacant posts in the police department.
A large number of candidates gathered at the Sharadamba temple on Military Road, holding placards and raising slogans against the government. They raised slogans such as “Where are the Jobs” and “Release the mega police recruitment notification.”
The aspirants urged the government to issue the notification immediately, stating that they had been preparing for police jobs for a long time. They later reached the collector’s office and picketed it, prompting police to divert traffic.
District revenue officer D. Tippe Naick assured them that he would take their issues to the government. The protesters then called off the agitation.
