State Festival Poleramma Jatara at Venkatagiri Ends on a Grand Note

NELLORE: The annual Sri Poleramma Jatara, celebrated as a State Festival, entered its second and final day in Venkatagiri of Tirupati district on Thursday, drawing thousands of devotees who thronged the town seeking blessings of the presiding deity.
Endowments minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, accompanied by Tirupati collector Dr. S. Venkateswar, SP L. Subbarayudu, and Venkatagiri MLA Kurugonda Rama Krishna, offered silk clothes to Goddess Poleramma with state honours.
Ramanarayana Reddy said the state government sanctioned ₹50 lakh for the Poleramma Jatara, of which ₹40 lakh have already been released. The remaining ₹10 lakh would be released after submission of the temple accounts and expenditure details.
The minister said the temple has ₹1.70 crore in fixed deposits and ₹25 lakh in SBI, besides gold ornaments, including a crown, feet, hands, and necklaces, donated by devotees and philanthropists. He stressed that temple funds would be utilised transparently for development works with due government approvals.
Ramanarayana Reddy said ₹7.05 crore have been sanctioned for the development of three temples in Venkatagiri constituency. Srivani Trust has sanctioned another ₹4.60 crore for construction of 13 temples. Steps are being taken to improve facilities at the Sri Chenchulakshmi temple at Kolithota in the forest area.
Collector Dr. Venkateswar said district administration made elaborate arrangements for safe and convenient darshan, including queue management, drinking water, sanitation, medical services, traffic regulation, and security. MLA Rama Krishna thanked devotees for maintaining discipline and cooperating with officials.
Police, Revenue, Endowments, Health, Municipal, Panchayat Raj, and Roads and Buildings departments jointly coordinated various arrangements for the Poleramma festival.
