Srisailam Water Level Nears FRL as Heavy Inflows Continue

KURNOOL: Flood inflows into the Srisailam reservoir continued unabated on Wednesday, with 2.45 lakh cusecs of water reaching the project from the Jurala reservoir.

According to official data, the reservoir's water level rose to 863.90 ft against its full reservoir level (FRL) of 885 ft. Of its gross storage capacity of 215.807 tmc ft, the reservoir now holds 118.6216 tmc ft.

With water levels rising steadily, officials resumed power generation at the Left Bank Hydroelectric Power Station.

After power generation, 4,267 cusecs of water is being released downstream into the Nagarjuna Sagar reservoir. In addition, about 800 cusecs is being supplied to the Kalwakurthy Lift Irrigation Scheme.

Officials said inflows are being monitored round the clock and appropriate measures are being taken in view of the continued rise in water levels.
