12 AP Government Hospitals in AP Get State-Level Swachh Awards
As many as 12 government hospitals and health centres in Andhra Pradesh have received Swachh Andhra State-Level Awards 2026 as part of the Swarna Andhra – Swachh Andhra initiative.
Vijayawada: As many as 12 government hospitals and health centres in Andhra Pradesh have received Swachh Andhra State-Level Awards 2026 as part of the Swarna Andhra – Swachh Andhra initiative.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will present awards to the officials concerned at a programme to be held on Friday.
Ahead of deciding on the awards, Swachh Andhra Corporation authorities, based on the self-assessment proposals sent from districts, organised third party inspections of hospitals at the field level and finalised the awards.
Swachh awards have been decided based on marks classified under five categories. They are 30 per cent marks for having separate toilets for both men and women; 25 per cent marks for providing hand wash statins with soap; 20 per cent marks for proper cleanliness of toilets as per norms; 15 per cent marks for inspections to control infections, and 10 per cent marks for issuing proper suggestions for cleanliness and display of messages.
The government hospitals, which got the Swachh Awards, are Kanumolu in Krishna district, Konakanchi in NTR district, Ayush Hospital in Anakapalli, Atmakur District Hospital in Nellore district, Achanta Government Hospital in West Godavari district, Pendurthy Community Health Centre in Visakhapantam, Aspari Government Hospital in Kurnool district, Konakanamitra Hospital in Markapur district, Ibrahimpatnam Primary Health Centre (PHC) in NTR district, Indiranagar PHC in Mangalagiri, Prakasam Road PHC in Tirupati, and Chinamushivada PHC in Visakhapatnam district.
District-level Swachh awards for select government hospitals in the specific district will be given by the respective collectors.
Health minister Satya Kumar Yadav appreciated the announcement of awards for government hospitals and health centres.
