NELLORE: Nellore district has resolved 87 per cent of the petitions received through the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS), Municipal Administration minister Dr Ponguru Narayana said on Monday. Participating in the weekly Public Grievance Redressal Forum at Tikkana Bhavan along with collector Himanshu Shukla, the minister reviewed grievance disposal and received petitions from citizens. Narayana said that since the formation of the coalition government, 82,166 grievances had been received across the district, of which 71,549 petitions were resolved. Only 5,384 petitioners approached authorities again, expressing dissatisfaction with the resolution. He noted that 57 per cent of the petitions related to revenue issues, mainly family property disputes and land boundary conflicts, and said 84 per cent of such cases had been resolved. The minister said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu personally reviews the grievance redressal programme every Monday. The collector directed officials to ensure timely disposal of petitions within the prescribed service-level timelines.
