TIRUPATI,: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday observed that resolving land disputes across Andhra Pradesh could take another year, as there are several complex revenue issues that require detailed verification of records and legal scrutiny.
Speaking after distributing DKT land pattas to beneficiaries at Kangundi village in Kuppam mandal in Chittoor district, the AP CM said AP is facing multiple land-related issues, which the NDA coalition government in the state is addressing systematically.
“Every dispute,” Chandrababu Naidu said, “necessitates detailed examination of land records, legal aspects, and establishing of ground-level facts before a decision can be taken.”
The Chief Minister charged that the previous YSRC government's policies had resulted in several land disputes across the state. He claimed that lands belonging to those who did not cooperate with YSRC leaders had been included in the prohibited list under Section 22A, Attempts had been made to even take control of ancestral properties, he alleged.
Chandrababu Naidu said state government is introducing technology-driven measures to protect land rights and strengthen the security of land records. The objective, he said, is to prevent manipulation of records and provide permanent solutions to long-pending disputes.
While distributing the DKT pattas involving 460.19 acres to 322 beneficiaries in Kangundi, the CM pointed out that the villagers had waited 61 years for the ownership rights.
“Though the dispute had remained unresolved for decades, the government found a solution after examining all land records. The state cabinet approved the reclassification of the land from forest poramboke to assigned waste dry land, clearing the way for issuing pattas," Chandrababu Naidu stated.
Referring to other such issues, he recalled that the government had resolved the Settipalli land dispute in Tirupati, enabling farmers to receive their rightful share. At the same time, the government secured 90 acres of land for its own future use. Likewise, another long-pending land dispute at Vatticherukuru village has also been settled.
