The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and ANS teams continued their search till Sunday.
Kakinada:All search and rescue teams except for the Anti-Naxal Squad (ANS) have returned to their parent departments as the search for the missing girl at Ch Agraharam village under Dondavaka Panchayat in Tuni Rural mandal of Kakinada district has ended.
The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and ANS teams continued their search till Sunday. On Monday, SDRF stopped the search while the ANS teams carried the search forward in nearby villages.
According to police, the girl may not have died due to wild-animals. Forest personnel and HANUMAN teams confirmed this after a thorough search including ponds and dense forest areas. They did not notice the fingerprints of the wild-animals in the forest.
ANS on Monday searched the villages like D Polavaram, A Kothapalli and some hamlets in Narsipatnam mandal. Tuni police said searches and investigations were done in 25 villages. Members of the nomadic tribes were contacted for clues about the missing girl.
Tuni rural SHO N. Krishnamachari said that the thorough search was going on for the girl for the past 17 days after she went missing on June 6. Some 500 persons were interrogated in this direction.
He said the search teams also made enquiries about newcomers to the villages including nomadic people and cashew-nut pickers.
