WhatsApp seems to be the most used free messaging platform out there. It is secure, private and works on individual mobile numbers, making it difficult for a person to provide false information and create fake accounts.

When WhatsApp was first released, you could only send text messages and photos. Later, as time passed by, WhatsApp has upgraded itself to much more by allowing videos, documents and other features such as WhatsApp Web, blue ticks, voice calling End-to-end encryption and a lot more. Information ahead also mentioned WhatsApp could follow Facebook Messenger to add the feature of video chats to its messaging platform. Well, that seems to be true and probably not too far away.

According to information revealed by WABetaInfo, a person on Twitter who seems to be closely following the WhatsApp development, the famous and free messaging platform is working on video calling. Check out the tweet below which shows that WhatsApp is presently testing video calling across the iOS platform.  The screenshot in the leak clearly mentions a missed video call from another user.

Unlike its web alternative, which needs you to pair the PC with your smartphone, WhatsApp seems to be gearing up to release an app or software that will allow you to run WhatsApp without your phone mobile. According to leaked information from the same Twitter account, the developers are also building (and probably beta testing) an app, or apps, to natively run WhatsApp on the PC and Mac. The leaked information reveals a screenshot that gives out information about software that would be available for download on Windows and Max OS X.

The screenshot does not reveal much information, but the lines stating ‘download for Mac’ are enough to mention that the use of WhatsApp will be available via an app or software too. However, the screenshots also do mention that WhatsApp should also be installed on your phone. This could be a requirement for authentication purposes, but maybe, once authenticated, you could use WhatsApp from both sides, individually.
