Mumbai: The much-rumoured wedding between India captain Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma took place in Tuscany, Italy on Monday, with the duo finally having tied the knot.

While both Virat and Anushka took to Twitter to express their happiness, wishes started pouring from all over the world, with some of the Pakistani cricketers too congratulating the couple.

Some of the current and former Indian cricketers, too, joined in to wish the duo a success in life, including Shikhar Dhawan, Aakash Chopra, Sachin Tendulkar among others.

Meanwhile, the BCCI also congratulated the duo.

In October, there were rumours of the Delhi batsman marrying the actress sometime in December. However, at that time, Anushka’s spokesperson had denied them, saying that there was no truth to it.

However, the indications of the wedding grew further, as the duo travelled to Switzerland last week, and was later reported that they would get married in Italy.

Meanwhile, the proceedings aren’t over as of yet. While there will be a reception in New Delhi on December 21 for close friends and family, the couple will then travel to Mumbai, where they will be hosting a reception for cricketers and people in the entertainment industry.

 

Following this, 29-year-old Virat will travel to South Africa as India face the Proteas in a long tour ( 3 Tests, 6 ODIs and 3 T20Is) starting on January 5.
