7 Dogs brings together different cultures and film industries, says Salman
Bollywood stars Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt are making special cameo appearances in the international action thriller 7 Dogs. The film is scheduled to hit Indian theatres on August 21 in both Hindi and English. It is directed by acclaimed Hollywood duo Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.
While Salman’s character is named Johar, Dutt will be seen as Ranjit, alongside an ensemble international cast including Egyptian icons Ahmed Ezz and Karim Abdel Aziz.
Mounted on a massive budget of $40 million, it is recorded as the most expensive Arabic-language film to date. Ezz and Aziz play an Interpol officer and a criminal who form an uneasy alliance to take down a global crime syndicate named ‘7 Dogs’ that is trafficking a deadly synthetic drug.
The film also features Hollywood and European talent like Monica Bellucci and Giancarlo Esposito.
Speaking ahead of the film’s release, Salman Khan says, “I am excited about this one. 7 Dogs is a big-screen film in every sense. The scale, the action, the world they’ve created is all very grand. Adil and Bilall have brought their experience of making international action films into it.”He adds, “I enjoyed being part of a project that brings together different cultures and film industries. It’s fresh, entertaining, and it’s the kind of film you want to experience in a theatre. It has a truly international feel.”
