Hyderabad:The opening day of the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s Senior Men’s Super League produced strong bowling performances, with Saqlain Arafat’s 5/47 and C. Advaith Reddy’s 5/25 the standout figures. Advaith Reddy’s spell was particularly economical as Team ‘B’ were restricted to 92 in 30.5 overs, while Team ‘D’ reached 173/5 in reply.
Team ‘H’ also made the stronger batting impression among the sides posting substantial totals, reaching 235/4 in 45 overs against Team E’s 167. Mickil Jaiswal’s unbeaten 79 provided the backbone of that innings. Team ‘F’, meanwhile, reached 224/9 in 59 overs, with Aman Rao unbeaten on 79.
The Under-23 Emerging Multi Day Tournament began with Team ‘C’ posting 220 in 63.3 overs before Team ‘A’ responded strongly at 142/5 in only 26 overs. Sheshi Kumar Yadav’s 70 and M. Koushik Reddy’s 52 were the principal contributions for Team ‘C’.
Team A’s reply was driven by an unbeaten 80 from C. Srinath Yadav, who anchored the innings after Team C’s total had been completed. The early scoring rate of Team A’s response gives them a strong position at the close of the opening day, although the match remains unfinished.
The match between Hyderabad and Bengal Under-19s, was decided by Hyderabad disciplined bowling and controlled chase. Rohan Boppana’s 5/28 was the outstanding bowling performance, helping restrict Bengal to 128 in 27.1 overs. Hyderabad then completed the chase for 129/8 in 36 overs. Arhaan Satwalkar remained unbeaten on 47, while Dhanvin Nimavat supported the bowling effort with 4/19.
The Under-19 One Day Super League featured two centuries and both proved decisive in successful chases. S. Guru Vidhwan’s unbeaten 104 powered Team ‘A’ to 259/5 in 44.1 overs after Team ‘C’ had made 258/9. His 132-ball innings contained 12 fours and provided the defining contribution of the contest.
Team ‘D’ also completed a successful chase after Team ‘E’ posted 261. P. Charan Tej’s unbeaten 100 from 94 balls, including 11 fours and a six, took Team ‘D’ to 263/8 in 46 overs. The two successful chases underline the importance of batting depth in the opening round.
Team ‘F’ completed another successful chase, edging past Team B’s 237/7 with 240/4 in 37.4 overs. Jaydev made 68, K. Sai Nehal 78 and Sai Devesh Jabaki 59, giving Team F a balanced run chase without a century.
The ‘C’ Division produced one completed low-scoring contest and one rain-affected no-result. Hrishikesh Singh’s 5/31 was the leading individual performance, although Adams XI ultimately prevailed after successfully chasing 131.
The Under-16 knockout tournament produced the most explosive individual batting of the day. Sai Harshith Undralla’s 185 from 120 balls was the highest individual score, featuring 26 fours and one six. C. Vikshith Reddy added 138 from 120 balls as Medak District-2 amassed 466/3 in 50 overs.
There was further outstanding batting from Md Rehmath, who struck 138 from only 80 balls, with 14 fours and four sixes, while B. Sai Maurya made 112 from 103 balls. The bowling was equally emphatic, with multiple six-and seven-wicket hauls, including Shubam Chowdary’s remarkable 7/6 and Katam Sreeshan’s 7/20.
