Hyderabad: Lakshya Football Academy emerged champions of the Hyderabad Golden Cup Women’s Football Tournament conducted by the Telangana Football Association at Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad.

Lakshya proved too good for Hyderabad in the final, defeating them with a commanding 6-1 scoreline. Renuka scored twice, in the 12th & 29th minutes, Aruna struck in the 36th & 42nd, Poojitha got goals in the 5th & 21st minutes for the winners. Hyderabad’s only goal came from Ira, in the 16th minute of the game.

As many as eight teams paticipated in the two-day tournamnet that was played over the weekend which saw competitive football being dished out much to the delight of the spectators who had turned up for the matches.
