Yadadri Bhuvanagiri Handloom Festival To Showcase 100 Pochampally Weavers

HYDERABAD: The Yadadri Bhuvanagiri collectorate is organising a handloom festival celebrating their GI-tagged Pochampally ikat. The event, ‘Thread Pochampally,’ will be held from June 5 to 7 at HITEX Exhibition Centre.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and other ministers have also been invited for the initiative that brings together over 100 weavers directly from the Pochampally cluster.
“This rare handloom festival will provide citizens a rare opportunity to meet the artisans, witness live loom demonstrations and purchase authentic handloom directly from the makers,” said Anuraag Jayanti, collector of Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district.
The event also features full ikat dyeing and weaving process on display, traditional Telangana food and cultural performances, direct transactions with weavers.
