Woman Injured In Suspected Drunk-Driving Crash In Banjara Hills

A 32-year-old woman was injured after a speeding car, allegedly driven by a man under the influence of alcohol, hit her on Road No. 14 in Banjara Hills on Friday.

The injured woman, identified as Ranjana Roy, was shifted to NIMS with a leg injury, where she underwent a surgery, police said.

The car, travelling from Banjara Hills towards Jubilee Hills, had two occupants, a man, identified as Dharma Teja, 29, who was reportedly driving the car, and a woman. Police declined to reveal the identity of the woman accompanying him, saying her involvement in the accident was yet to be established.

Sub-inspector Naveen said the vehicle involved in the accident has been seized and further investigation is underway.
