TG SAFE Suspends Licences Of Four Dark Stores

HYDERABAD: The Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs (TG SAFE) has suspended the FSSAI licences of four dark stores and ordered them to stop operations after inspections found food safety violations at several quick‑commerce storage facilities in the Core Urban Region.
Ten enforcement teams comprising food safety officers and police inspected 16 dark stores operated by Swiggy Instamart, Flipkart, Zepto and Dropx Logistics in different parts of Hyderabad and its outskirts.
TG SAFE officials found lapses relating to hygiene, storage and handling of food products, including expired or damaged articles, pest infestation and deficiencies in maintaining storage conditions. Fifteen samples were lifted on suspicion of adulteration.
Improvement notices will be issued to three establishments — two Flipkart stores at Chintal and Gajularamaram and a Swiggy Instamart store at Chintal. The outlets will be reinspected and further action taken based on compliance.
Show‑cause notices will also be issued to five establishments — three Swiggy Instamart stores at Nizampet, Gajularamaram and Shah Ali Banda, and two Flipkart stores at Moosarambagh and Rethi Galli, Golconda. TG SAFE said penalties would follow.
The four establishments whose FSSAI licences were suspended are a Swiggy Instamart store at Petbasheerbad, a Flipkart store at Panjeshah Road near Pathar Gatti in Charminar, a Zepto store at Ram Koti and another Swiggy Instamart store at SBH Bank Colony, Saidabad. They have been directed to stop business operations immediately.
