Hyderabad: The state government has approved guidelines for temporary and hyperlocal advertising in the CURE area, with ward-level advertisement nodal officers empowered to identify locations, grant permissions and take enforcement action.

Each ward will have five to 10 locations for temporary advertisements and 25 to 50 locations for hyperlocal advertisements.

These locations will be approved by the deputy commissioner concerned and made available for booking.

Applicants will have to book ad slots through the MyCURE or advertisement app.

The booking slots will be opened seven days in advance, while one mobile number can book only one slot at a time.

Approved advertisements will have to carry a QR code containing booking details and the printer ID.

The guidelines prohibit unauthorised advertisements.

Such ads will be removed immediately by municipal, police or HYDRAA authorities, with fines and removal costs recovered from the person responsible.

Advertisements cannot be placed on trees, heritage structures, electrical poles, transformers, flyovers or other prohibited public infrastructure, and must not obstruct traffic, pedestrian movement, signals, signage or CCTV visibility.

Temporary advertisements can be booked for a maximum of three days, while hyperlocal advertisements can be booked for up to seven days.

The maximum permitted sizes are 18x18 ft for temporary ads and 6x6 ft for hyperlocal ads.

The guidelines also cover hyperlocal advertisements such as tuition-class notices, rental or to-let notices, missing person or dog notices, tournament invitations and social programmes.

The government has directed the commissioners of GHMC, Cyberabad Municipal Corporation and Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation to take further action to implement the guidelines.
