Hanamkonda: Hanamkonda district collector Chahat Bajpai directed officials to ensure prompt and quality medical services for pregnant women and new mothers at the government maternity hospital.
During an inspection of the hospital on Tuesday, Bajpai reviewed medical services, facilities and staff performance.
She inspected the OP department, aarogya mahila clinic, fertility clinic, gynaecology OP, laboratory, scanning room, labour room, operation theatre and store room.
She examined OP and laboratory records and enquired with staff about the tests being conducted, sample collection and the time taken to issue reports.
She also inspected the scanning equipment and reviewed cleanliness and maintenance of equipment in the labour room and operation theatre.
The collector interacted with pregnant women and new mothers who had come to the hospital for treatment and sought their feedback on the services being provided.
She directed officials to ensure that patients did not have to wait for long and that test reports were issued at the earliest.
She also instructed officials to ensure the availability of essential medicines and medical equipment and maintain cleanliness on the hospital premises through regular monitoring.
Hospital superintendent Dr Vijayalakshmi and duty doctors briefed the collector on the medical services being provided at the hospital.
