Hyderabad: The Telangana Waqf Board has clarified that it does not issue no-objection certificates (NoCs) and clearances certifying a property was not Waqf land.

The board reaction came after some fake NOCs came to its notice.

The board said that the fake NOCs had been presented before the revenue, registration and stamps and other departments for getting documents executed and registered over the Waqf properties.

The board said it does not issue any NOC that a particular property is not a Waqf property.

There are no such provision provided under the Waqf Act 1995 and the Waqf Amendment Act 2025 or any Rules for the board to issue such NOCs.

The board has instructed the departments concerned to not accept any such document claiming to have been issued by it.

Such documents should be treated as void, and the Waqf Board would not be responsible for fraudulent transactions carried out on the basis of fake NOCs.

It directed registration authorities to refer document presented to the Chief Executive officer for verification of its authenticity.

The Board has written letters to the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration, the revenue department, ,minorities welfare department, the commissioner and inspector-general, stamps and registration department, TG RERA, HMDA and district collectors.
