Telangana Governor Calls for Collective Participation in Building Viksit Bharat
Extending his greetings to the people of Telangana and the nation on the occasion, Shukla recalled the immense sacrifices made by freedom fighters and national leaders in securing India’s independence
Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Saturday called upon every citizen to contribute to the building of a developed and self-reliant India, drawing inspiration from the sacrifices, courage and patriotism of the freedom fighters.
The Governor was speaking after unfurling the national flag at the 80th Independence Day celebrations held at Lok Bhavan here. He also received the ceremonial salute from the police personnel.
The Governor’s spouse Janaki Shukla, Special Chief Secretary to the Governor M. Dana Kishore, Joint Secretary K. Shashikiranachary, and officers and employees of Lok Bhavan participated in the celebrations.

He said their courage, sacrifice and patriotism should continue to inspire the nation in its journey towards a developed and self-reliant India.
The Governor said India’s strength lies in its unity in diversity and that the country, by upholding these values, continues to provide direction and inspiration to the world.
India, as the world’s largest democracy, is moving rapidly towards becoming the world’s third-largest economy, he said, adding that the country was progressing with confidence towards the goal of Viksit Bharat.
Describing Telangana as an important growth engine in the country’s development journey, hri Shukla said Hyderabad had established itself as one of India’s prominent growth centres. Though Telangana is a young State, it has earned a distinct identity within a relatively short period, he said.
The transformation in the agriculture sector through irrigation projects, coupled with Hyderabad’s growing presence in information technology, Artificial Intelligence, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, was contributing to the State’s development.
Telangana, he said, was emerging as a global centre for innovation, technology and development. The Governor stressed that economic and technological progress must go hand in hand with social well-being and youth empowerment.
He said making programmes such as TB Mukt Bharat and Nasha Mukt Bharat into broad-based public movements in Telangana was among his priorities. He called upon citizens, institutions and the youth to participate actively in efforts to eliminate diseases such as tuberculosis and protect young people from drug abuse.
Shukla also underscored the importance of national security and paid tribute to the valour and sacrifices of the armed forces and security personnel serving continuously along the country’s borders.
Their vigilance, dedication and sacrifice, he said, enabled the nation to move forward on the path of development with confidence and without fear.
On the occasion of Independence Day, the Governor called upon citizens to work with dedication, under the Tricolour, towards building a developed, healthy, self-reliant and prosperous India. He urged the people of Telangana to collectively contribute to achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat and work towards building a healthy, self-reliant and prosperous Telangana.
