No Compromise on Telangana’s River Water Share, Says Revanth Reddy

The government is moving forward to complete pending irrigation projects including Thummadihetti and PalamuruRangareddy lift project on a priority basis and ensure the supply of irrigation water to the very last acre of the ayacut.

Speaking after unfurling the national flag at Golconda Fort in connection with Independence Day celebrations, he extended heartfelt wishes to all people of the country on the occasion of Independence Day.

“Today is a momentous occasion for all of us. It is the day when we broke the shackles of slavery and breathed the air of freedom. It is a day worthy of being inscribed in golden letters in the history of our nation,” he said.

“We are enjoying the fruits of our independence with the great sacrifices made by many great souls. Remembering their sacrifices, I bow my head in humble reverence to all those great leaders. India's freedom struggle stands unique in world history as a war fought without weapons,” Revanth Reddy said.

The credit for proving that such a great victory could be achieved using the weapon of non-violence goes to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.

“Our first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru laid strong foundations for India to establish itself as a vibrant democratic country. Nehru demonstrated his great vision by formulating the plans which required for the nation to emerge as a modern India,” he explained.

According to Revanth Reddy, the irrigation projects constructed by the first Prime Minister of India are what we today refer to as the 'Modern Temples.' “We must give all credits to the Nehru regime for the comprehensive development of all sectors by spearheading the Green Revolution, White Revolution, and Blue Revolution,” he said.

“Mahatma Gandhi described freedom is the essence of life and is priceless. We are practicing Gandhi ideals ensuring freedom for the people in the People's Government. We are striving to rebuild the destroyed Telangana state towards development,” he said.

“In the 32 months since our government assumed office, we restored the systems that had been damaged in a planned manner since our government assumed office in December 2023. The welfare measures have been expanded and charted a new course for development. We are moving forward by preparing a roadmap for a bright Telangana's future,” Revanth Reddy said.

“Our government does not measure welfare merely in financial terms or by the amount of money spent. Our approach to welfare is rooted in humanity. We hold a sense of responsibility towards the poor and possess a deep desire to bring happiness into their lives,” he said.

“Our main aim is to provide a healthy life and committed to ensuring a dignified way of living. The welfare measures are not being merely as a means to garner votes or as token promises. There is a scientific approach underlying every scheme,” he explained.

The fruits of these 32 months of hard work are now evident. According to the latest RBI statistics, the state's per capita income during 2025-26 financial year stands at ₹4,18,931. Telangana's per capita income is approximately 91 percent higher than the national average. This is a remarkable achievement that underscores the strength of the economy.

“Our government firmly believes that the state prospers only when farmers flourish. With a vision of alleviating farmers' hardships and transforming agriculture into a festival of celebrations in their lives, the people's government accorded top priority to farmer welfare,” Revath Reddy said.

“We fulfilled the promise of waiver of crop loans of up to ₹2 lakh liberating over 25 lakh farming families from the mounting debt burden. We provided investment support exceeding ₹36,000 crore under the 'RythuBharosa' scheme,” he said.

“Within a span of nine days, we credited approximately ₹9,000 crore 'RythuBharosa' funds directly into farmers' accounts. We are also supporting the farmers by paying a bonus of ₹500 per quintal for fine-variety paddy. Over the past 32 months, the state government spent nearly ₹1.70 lakh crore on agriculture and farmer welfare,” he said.

It is a delightful moment that Telangana surpassed Punjab in paddy cultivation area and yield, emerging as the number one state in the country. The government has set a new record in paddy procurement during the last Yasangi (Rabi) season. “We procured 81.12 lakh metric tonnes of Paddy through 8,575 procurement centers,” he said.

The people's government is moving forward with the goal of developing one crore women financially prosperous in Telangana. It is providing free RTC busy travel for all women under 'Mahalakshmi' scheme. Over 335 crore free trips have already been recorded.

More than 34 lakh women are utilizing the free RTC travel facility every day. Under the scheme, Women across the state saved ₹11,000 crore. The government is providing up to 200 units of free power supply to 53.09 lakh families through 'GruhaJyothi' scheme. As many as 10.97 crore 'zero-bill' statements have already been issued.

The government is supplying gas cylinders for just ₹500 to 42.90 lakh families. It spends ₹4,709 crore to provide assistance to 1.68 lakh women through the 'Kalyana Lakshmi' and 'Shaadi Mubarak' schemes. Loans worth ₹60,487 crore were sanctioned to self-help groups through bank linkages and released ₹1,900 crore as interest subsidies under the interest-free loan scheme.

Stalls have been allocated at Shilparamam in Hitech City to help market the products made by women from self-help groups. The women groups were given the contract works of stitching school uniforms and manufacturing sarees. It is a pride moment that women groups are operating petrol bunks and solar power plants and have also become owners of RTC buses.

It is the government's aspiration that women from Telangana grow in business activities and emerge as prominent entrepreneurs in the country.

The distribution of 'SannaBiyyam' (fine rice) initiative through Public Distribution System is a revolutionary scheme. The special scheme of supplying fine rice to white ration card holders is being considered as a human dignity and assures good health.

The fine rice scheme instilled the belief that consuming fine rice is our right. Over 93 lakh families—comprising nearly 3.38 crore people were brought under the ambit of the Public Distribution System.

The people's government provided reassurance to families who had been waiting for new ration cards for years. It issued over 15 lakh new ration cards. Today, the government is launching the distribution of smart ration cards across the state and enhancing transparency and accountability in ration distribution by adopting new technology.

'Indiramma' houses are not merely four walls and a concrete roof. The Indiramma houses are symbol of self-respect for the poor. The government is transforming the sense of helplessness—stemming from the belief that one could never build a home despite a lifetime of toil—into the confidence of proudly saying, "We have a home of our own."

To fulfil the dream of the poor, the government is constructing 'Indiramma Houses' to uphold the self-respect of the poor. “We launched the construction of 4.5 lakh houses in the first phase, providing financial assistance of ₹5 lakh per house. Special priority has been accorded to tribal communities mainly Chenchu ​​tribe and extremely backward families,” he said.

In the second phase, the government sanctioned another 2.5 lakh new houses and constructing one lakh Indiramma houses in prime residential areas within Hyderabad. The foundation stone for these Indiramma housing towers was already laid at KPHB Colony.
