Rangareddy: Man Sentenced 20 Years in POCSO Act

Based on the complaint of the girl's mother, the LB Nagar police registered a case and sent the accused to remand. After investigation, the police filed a chargesheet against Suresh in the court.

Judge M.K. Padmavati of the fast-track Pocso court for Rangareddy district on Saturday sentenced one Kolla Suresh to 20 years rigorous imprisonment for the rape of a minor girl. The court also imposed a fine of `12,000 on Suresh. The court ordered the payment of `2 lakh as compensation to the victim.

According to LB Nagar police, Suresh, a native of Narayanpet district, was stalking a 15-year-old girl who had rejected his advances. On December 5, 2020, he entered the girl's house, threatened her and sexually assaulted her while she was alone. Based on the complaint of the girl's mother, the LB Nagar police registered a case and sent the accused to remand. After investigation, the police filed a chargesheet against Suresh in the court.
