Rahul Gandhi’s Arrest an Assault on Constitution, Says Bhatti Vikramarka

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Wednesday condemned the arrest of Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, describing it as an attack on democracy and the Constitution.

Bhatti, accompanied by forest minister Konda Surekha, staged a protest near the Ambedkar statue at Hanumakonda Centre against the police action. The leaders paid floral tributes to Ambedkar.

The Congress leaders had been protesting in Delhi against the alleged police action on students demonstrating peacefully at Jantar Mantar over alleged irregularities in the NEET examination, Bhatti said.

Bhatti expressed concern over the alleged NEET question paper leak, stating that it had jeopardised the future of millions of students.

He also criticised the alleged use of force against students, including women, who were participating in peaceful protests, calling the police action "highly condemnable."

He demanded the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan, holding him accountable for the irregularities in the NEET examination.

Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy, Wardhannapet MLA Nagaraju, Hanumakonda DCC president Engala Venkatram Reddy, Congress public representatives and party leaders also participated in the protest.
