Collector Ila Tripathi— DC File

NIZAMABAD: Collector Ila Tripathi has directed health officials to take stringent action against private hospitals violating the provisions of the Clinical Establishments Act.

At a review meeting held at the Integrated District Offices Complex on Thursday, she examined the registration and renewal status of private hospitals in the district. She said every hospital must be registered with the district registration authority and called for regular inspections to ensure compliance with prescribed norms.

Tripathi instructed officials to grant or renew licences only to hospitals meeting all mandatory requirements. Hospitals violating the Act should not be permitted to operate, while eligible establishments should receive approvals within the stipulated time through a transparent process.

Warning against irregularities in registration, she said complaints of malpractice would be taken seriously and officials or staff found responsible could face dismissal. Hospitals operating without registration should be served notices immediately.

She also asked officials to ensure that hospital managements were aware of the revised government guidelines framed in accordance with Supreme Court directions. Hospitals must provide mandatory facilities, including parking and fire safety measures, and prominently display boards showing medical charges.

The collector called for increased surveillance of Registered Medical Practitioners (RMPs) and stringent action against those running hospitals without the required qualifications. She urged private hospitals to provide immediate medical assistance to road accident victims under the PM Rahat scheme.

Government and private doctors should discharge their duties with dedication and work to improve public confidence in the healthcare system, she said.

Indian Institute of Health and Family Governing Council Chairperson Dr Kavitha Reddy, additional collectors B. Raja Goud and V. Bhujangarao, municipal commissioner Dileep Kumar and district medical and health officer B. Rajashri and other officials attended the meeting.
