New HYDRAA Station to Be Operational From Next Week
On Friday, complaints were still being accepted at the HYDRAA office in Buddha Bhavan ‘A’ Block.
Hyderabad:A day after the HYDRAA police station was inaugurated amid fanfare, two personnel present in the building said complaints would be accepted after it was operationalised, perhaps next week. On Friday, complaints were still being accepted at the HYDRAA office in Buddha Bhavan ‘A’ Block.
A visit to the HYDRAA station revealed that equipment also needed to be set up, and the premises were empty except for the two personnel. Requisite equipment still needed to be set up at the station.
“There is no lock-up in this police station, the reason being there will be no hardcore criminals,” said an official from HYDRAA.
Unlike the earlier Directorate Of Enforcement Vigilance & Disaster Management (EV&DM), which did not have the provision to register an FIR, the HYDRAA station can book cases. Then EV&DM director Vishwajit Kampati had tried to get the erstwhile BRS government to set up a police station for the directorate but was unable to do so bas the directorate was under a urban local body, the GHMC.
